    Recipients will attend the Advanced Studies in Active Estimating and Integrated Cost Management program offered exclusively at UC Davis.

    (DAVIS, CA) The Institute for Construction Innovation has awarded scholarships to four prestigious candidates to attend the Advanced Studies in Active Estimating and Integrated Cost Management program. The program is offered exclusively at UC Davis, Continuing and Professional Education. The awardees are:

    • Dr. Ngoc-Bihn TA, Head of Department, Institute of Construction Economics – Ministry of Construction, Vietnam 
    • Justin Pennington, Civil Engineer Associate, City of Los Angeles, Department of Water and Power
    • Dr. Nguyen Luong Hai, Professor of Construction Management, Economics Department at the University of Transport and Communications, Vietnam
    • Raag Lavingiya, Graduate Student at UC Berkeley, LEED-certified Green Associate and certified Data Science Construction, Architecture, and Engineering

    These top professionals were selected based on professional experience and their dedication toward enhancing the construction industry. 

    Participants of UC Davis’s Advanced Studies program learn to master five main pillars: Behavior, Alignment, Process, Communication, and Analytics. The program is leading a new era in design and preconstruction. The Advanced Studies program teaches industry professional to:

    • Transform Team Perspectives,
    • Apply Active Estimating to Achieve Targeted Costs,
    • Examines integration of new technologies available to the construction industry,
    • Master Probability Factors that lead to Predicative Risk Mitigation,
    • Employ Analytical Strategies for accurate cost awareness,
    • Optimize Behaviors that drive Target Value Design cost certainty.

    The program uses a “think-tank” approach to optimizing success within Integrated Project Teams. Participants includes Owners, Architects, Engineers, General Contractors, and Trade Partners. This variety of industry professionals helps implement team dynamics efficiently within a new era in design and preconstruction.

  • i4Ci Awards Inaugural Scholarship

    The Institute for Construction Innovation (i4Ci), has awarded its inaugural scholarship to Yadvindra Luktuke for the Advanced Studies in Estimating and integrated Cost Management certificate program offered exclusively at the UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education.

    “I am honored. Learning the new methodologies, the Advanced Studies program offers, especially target value design/delivery, will help me understand how to effectively apply the data that we have to create better, more accurate estimates,” said Luktuke.

    Originally from India, Luktuke, worked for Saniket Builders, LLP before, coming to the US to earn his MS in Civil Engineering and Project Management from UC Berkeley. He is a certified LEED Green Associate, and Certified Associate in Project Management is a Cost Estimator for Plant Construction Company, LP in San Francisco, CA. 

    i4Ci is working exclusively with UC Davis – CPE to develop the Advanced Studies in Estimating and integrated Cost Management certificate program, which launches on October 26, 2020.

  • i4Ci Awards Second Scholarship

    The local nonprofit research and development firm awards scholarship to Moises Guandique, UC Davis Alumni, and Assistant Estimator for National Facilities Services – Cost Engineering Group.

     (DAVIS, CA) The Institute for Construction Innovation (i4Ci), a 501(c)3 nonprofit research and development firm, has awarded a scholarship to Moises Guandique for the Advanced Studies in Estimating and integrated Cost Management certificate program offered exclusively at the University of California, Davis, Continuing and Professional Education (UC Davis – CPE).

    “I fell in love with estimating while earning my Construction Management Certificate at UC Davis CPE,” said Guandique. “I recently started my career in construction as an assistant estimator. When I learned of the Advanced Estimating and integrated Cost Management program, I knew this would expand my knowledge and help me advance my career.” 

    Raised by a single mother with his two brothers in South Central Los Angeles, Guandique is a first-generation college student and graduate. He earned his BS in Civil Engineering from UC Davis in 2017. He is an estimating professional with Kaiser in-house general contractor, National Facilities Services – Cost Engineering Group.

    “We at Kaiser Permanente are very impressed and pleased with Moises’ work. We can hardly wait to see how the Advanced Studies program at UC Davis will grow his knowledge and understanding of Estimating and integrated Cost Management,” said Michael Hill, North Bay Regional Commercial Real Estate Chief Estimator for Kaiser Permanente.

  • NEW PROGRAM IN ADVANCED COST ESTIMATING AND MANAGEMENT

    UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education to offer an Advanced Studies in Active Estimating™ and integrated Cost Management program.

    (DAVIS, CA) The University of California, Davis Continuing and Professional Education, the workforce development arm of the university, along with the Institute for Construction Innovation, has announced the Advanced Studies in Active Estimating™ and Integrated Cost Management program.

    Active Estimating™ and integrated Cost Management (AEiCM) is an innovative approach to cost management in preconstruction. The four-class certificate program is designed for estimators, project managers, engineers, and others who are responsible for overseeing large, complex projects. The program will cover Active Estimating™ and integrated Cost Management, Lean construction practices, and the application of new technologies that support integrated project delivery. AEiCM is based on over 15 years of cutting-edge applied research, to deliver projects on time and on budget with an astonishing degree of predictability.

    In an exclusive agreement with UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education, i4Ci to provide AEICM content via online training, webinars, on-site workshops, and conferences.
