Institute for Construction Innovation Retained by California Northstate University for Elk Grove Medical Center
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(ELK GROVE, CA) California Northstate University (CNU) has retained the Institute for Construction Innovation (i4Ci) to provide its Active Estimating™ and Integrated Cost Management methodologies for its new CNU Medical Center campus.
Last year, California Northstate Medical Center proposed to build a 250-bed state-of-the-art teaching hospital that is designed to provide much needed Level II trauma care, cardiac and other medical services to Elk Grove and south Sacramento County; which significantly lags in hospital beds compared to both State and National statistics. The proposal includes later phases that could add up to an additional 150 beds, student housing, and out-patient facilities and represents one of the most significant developments in the region in terms of anticipated investment and number of jobs created.
Based in Davis, the Institute for Construction Innovation will work directly with CNU to oversee the project cost, schedule, and ensure innovative techniques are used during construction. It will also manage the bidding, estimating, interviewing, and contracting processes with general contractors and trade partners.
“We are excited to work with the Institute for Construction Innovation. Their innovative approach to project estimating and cost management embodies the next generation approach we are taking in building our Elk Grove Medical Center,” said Dr. Alvin Cheung, CEO & President of CNU.
The Institute for Construction Innovation will use its patent-pending Active Estimating™ and Integrated Cost Management methodology to reliably forecast cost and time for the cutting-edge California Northstate Medical Center. Based on over a decade of innovative applied and academic research, Active Estimating™ and Integrated Cost Management has been practiced and proven on various successful similar-sized projects.
The Institute for Construction Innovation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit research and development firm, specializing in project management consulting as well as research and development. Developed by i4Ci, the Active Estimating™ and Integrated Cost Management Advanced Studies program is offered exclusively at the University of California, Davis, Continuing and Professional Education.
